Major-General Sir Brian Thomas Pennicott, KCVO, a senior British Army officer. He was Defence Services Secretary 1991-1994,[1] and additionally Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Personnel and Reserves) 1992-94.
Pennicott was in charge of the Royal Artillery forces in the Falklands War[2] and as a witness signed the Argentine surrender document.[3] He was appointed as a Gentleman Usher and was present at the funeral of the Queen Mother. Pennicott retired from this position at the end of 2007, though he was then moved to a position of being the Extra Gentleman Usher.[4]
